A little restaurant review/rant for my followers.
I recently went to Pescatore’s [on Humboldt street] for a birthday dinner with my family, expecting it to be fantastic. Three of us ordered the halibut that was on special, and one ordered the filet mignon. Special? Hardly. All three pieces of the halibut were completely uncooked when we got them, so we sent them back. When they came out again, two of the three were still completely uncooked....

I'm not a huge activist or anything...
…but I just thought I’d let you all know that three restaurants in Victoria serve shark fin soup. The fins used in the soup are cut off live sharks which are then thrown back in the water, where they will either bleed to death, drown, or be eaten alive by other predators. Millions of sharks are slaughtered in this cruel fashion every year, which has a terrible impact on the ecosystem.
